UPDATED AT 11pm WITH MORE DETAILS Crunch owners’ son in serious accident in GTA

UPDATED AT 11pm:  Riley McComb, 23, was airlifted to Hamilton General Hospital.  His parents are en route to be with him.  Riley became a first-time father to a little girl just this past Saturday.  She is the first grandchild of Ryan and Katherine Leonard.  Ryan Leonard tells My Cochrane Now Dot Com the Friday night game in Iroquois Falls against French River will go ahead.

Details are few about a serious traffic accident involving the son of the owners of the Cochrane Crunch junior hockey team.

We do know that Ryan and Katherine Leonard’s son was in the accident Thursday in the Greater Toronto area.

Last night’s game in Cochrane against the Timmins Rock was postponed, out of respect for the Leonard family.  It’s not clear whether the Crunch will go ahead with their game against French River that’s set for tonight in Iroquois Falls.

The Timmins team had arrived in Cochrane on Thursday and was starting warm-up exercises when the players were told of the accident and the postponement.
