The chairman of the Boost our Igloo club in Iroquois Falls has a two-word assessment of his presentation to town council Monday night: “Mission accomplished.”

Rick Charlebois says the gallery was full as he asked council not for money, but other support to

“Council is instructing department heads to provide a list of suppliers to the economic development officer,” he summarizes.  and the economic development officer has been mandated to start discussions working with me and club members ASAP.”

A meeting has already been set for later this week between Charlebois, the economic development officer and the recreation director.

“I think it’s going to be very helpful and lend some legitimacy to our efforts because now we have municipal backing and effort behind it,” he states.

Among other factors going into council’s receptiveness, Charlebois thinks it was helpful that he wasn’t asking for money.
