Forestry Roads safety course coming in new year

Reported by Denis J. Puska

If you would like to learn how to be a better driver on the area forest roads there is some help coming. Workplace Safety North has developed a safety training course for those who access forest roads for personal or business needs. Director of Prevention Services Chris Serratore says they offer various training courses to serve various needs.

“S0 we have a short workshop designed for those people who would learn what it would be like to travel on those roads,” he said. “The second is one for the people that work in the forest, such as industry workers, on a full-time basis.:

Serratore says they developed the training course in Cochrane and will be returning to offer the program to those interested in February. He adds that the safety driving course is aimed at reducing the number of incidents on forest roads.  The program was developed through an online survey and consultation with business leaders.
