Excitement grows for telethon in I.F.

The annual Bill Harkins-Eugene Ricard Santa Claus Fund telethon goes tomorrow night in Iroquois Falls.

“We’re absolutely ready and excited for tomorrow’s big event,” says organizing committee member Michael Shea.

It takes place at the community auditorium at the high school, and live on Cable 12.

“We want to make sure that everybody knows to come to the auditorium and let’s together for the whole community fill that auditorium for the whole night,”Shea notes, as he hands out the first challenge of the event.

“We’re there from five to ten o’clock and if it goes a little later, then that’s what it’s going to be because it’s going to be an exciting night.”

Believed to be unique to the telethon in the Falls is pledge pick-up service.  Shea says if you’re watching from home and call in a pledge, a volunteer will come to your door within minutes to help you honour it.

101.9 Moose FM’s Bob McIntyre is a co-host for the show, along with former Eskis and Crunch hockey coach Jamy Bernier.
