In this week’s look at the history of Cochrane, the first automobile in the Rail Town.
Cochrane Public Library archivist Ardis Proulx-Chedore tells us about it.
“In 1914, the first horseless carriage, a Model T Ford jointly owned by Max Henry and Joe Bernier came town. It was purchased through Taylor Hardware for $700 and brought from Cobalt by train.”
The archives at the public library are open every Friday, 12:00-3:00pm.
