Telethon ‘desperately needs entertainment’

Members of the Cochrane Lions Club are getting nervous.

They’re planning the annual Bill Mitchell Christmas Telethon for Sunday, December 1st, and as chairman Daniel Touchette puts it, they’re in desperate need of entertainers.

“I know Cindy Jansen’s in charge of that and she’s having a very hard time,” he tells My Cochrane Now Dot Com. “We desperately need entertainment, so people who have any talent, please show up.”

…or contact Cindy Jansen ahead of time, to calm her nerves and help her set up a schedule.

Touchette says the fundraising goal is to top last year’s total of $13,000.  It all goes to the food bank.

“Every year we do that for the food bank,” he notes.  “It’s for the needy families at Christmas time so the families would get a voucher to get some food for Christmas Day.”

The telethon is the afternoon of Sunday, December 1st, out of the basement of the Cochrane Public Library.  Or you can watch it from the comfort of your living room on Channel 327.
