Timiskaming-Cochrane MPP John Vanthof says he’s shocked and saddened by the impending closure of the Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat.
He says he’ll take his cue from town council on how he can help save it.
“Next week is constituency week, so I’m hoping to meet with the folks in Cochrane and see where we can proceed from there,” Vanthof tells My Cochrane Now Dot Com.

What he can do to help, he says, depends on what council wants him to do.
“Anything within the capacity of the provincial government, that’s my role to see if I can facilitate that.”
The open meeting for public input is a week from Monday. Vanthof says if he can’t be there… a member of his staff will be.
