Cochrane Christmas parade theme is “A Family Christmas”

The Cochrane Christmas Parade is back this year, following the lighting of the Christmas tree on Sixth Avenue the evening of Thursday, November 28th.

The parade is organized by the Cochrane Crunch.  Coach and general manager Ryan Leonard says it will travel from Railway Street, down Sixth Avenue, then on Fifth Street to 12th Avenue, ending at the Tim Horton Event Centre.

“What we do is we get all the businesses and social groups and even families get involved,” says Leonard.  “Last year, we had I think 24 floats and groups. So every year it gets better and better.”

Leonard says there’s no entry fee. Registration forms are available at the front desk at the Event

“This year’s theme is A Family Christmas,” Leonard adds.

“Once it’s done, then we also have public skating at the Event Centre from 7:30 to 9:00.”

…And fireworks outside the Centre.
