A live Nativity scene is planned for Cochrane against this year, leading up to Christmas.
It’s a presentation of the Cochrane Ministerial Association. Crew member Kayla Tousignant says a casting call will go out sometime in early November.
“We’re hoping to get a Mary and a Joseph, three wise men, a bunch of shepherds, about three angels, King Herod, some Herod advisers, kind of encompassing the whole Christmas story,” Tousignant lists off.
A doll will be used for Baby Jesus because it might be too cold for a real baby, but Tousignant says there will be plenty of roles for kids.
“It happens on Genier Road by the Event Centre on Dec. 6 at 7:00pm,” she adds.
There’s no charge to visit the Nativity scene, but donations to the food bank and the Northern Ontario Animal Welfare Society are welcome.
