As the witching hour approaches and Halloween being only a matter of days away… the OPP is nudging ghosts and goblins with a few reminders for safe trick-or-treating.
Const. Michelle Simard has a list of them.
“One of them is wear a costume that is easily visible at night. And if it’s not visible, consider putting reflective armbands around your arms or something on your back. Also avoid wearing a mask. It inhibits your vision, so make-up would be a better option,” Simard advises.
“Carry a flashlight,” she says. “Watch for traffic. Do one side of the road at a time. Avoid the zig-zag effect, and carefully inspect your candy when you get home. Do not have candy when you’re out on the road.”
