Sportsman’s Club aiming to land $2,500 for shooting range construction

The Cochrane Sportsman’s Club has hit a   financial snag as it builds its shooting range on Rhéaume Esker Road.

Executive member Dillon Recoskie says the club needs $2,500  to complete excavation.

“We need to put berms which are 20-foot high walls of dirt to completely protect the range,” he outlines, “as well as level the trap range for the shotgun sports.”

Recoskie says the club wants the work done as soon as possible, to allow it settle over the winter.

“Because we’re $2,500 short, we’re trying to sell 100 memberships at $25 apiece,” he adds.  “It’s the most efficient way for us to raise this money.”

You can get your membership from any member of the club executive or at Girard’s Esso.

“Basically, our deadline is snowfall.  We’re racing Jack Frost at this point.”
