It’s baaaaccckkkk: Halloween Extravaganza on Oil Tank Rd.

It happens every year at the same place on Oil Tank Road in Iroquois Falls.  Scary, creepy creatures appearing out of nowhere, creating what property owner Teri Kirkman calls a Halloween extravaganza.

“It’s approximately two acres of hand sculpted creatures,” she says.

On October 26th and 27th, you can see the frightful result for yourself at 1679 Oil Tank Road.  For the sixth straight year, Kirkman and her crew of volunteers craft the sculptures.

“We use flour, white glue, water, drywall compound and I go and I buy the green insulation that’s 85% recycled newsprint and we use that to make clay.”

High school students in costumes will be working on accumulating volunteer hours by acting as tour guides the weekend before Halloween itself.

Kirkman says she never turns any brave visitor away.

“We do ask for people to bring a non-perishable food item for the food bank.  We’ve been raising food for them, well, this will be the sixth year now,” she adds.

After the tour, there’s a heated outbuilding where hot chocolate, pop and candy are served.  It’s all donated free of charge by local businesses.
