Kapuskasing’s Mayor, Alan Spacek says that Highway 655 will not be closing during the reconstruction of the Jocko Creek culvert. The news came out late yesterday. Mayor Spacek says that he extends a thank you to Regional Northeastern Director at the Ministry of Transportation, Eric Dodge, for accommodating residents using the highway.
Spacek says that the closure of the highway was a major concert to area residents as more than 1500 vehicles use the road daily. He goes on to say that the decision by the MTO not to close the road is welcome news for residents of the north.
