‘Extra special’ exhibit at Cochrane Public Library’s art gallery

There are a lot of features of the latest exhibit in the art gallery at the Cochrane Public Library that CEO Christina Blazecka calls “extra special”.

It’s in the newly renovated gallery from Friday until September 25th; it’s the annual travelling juried exhibit of the Northern Ontario Art Association; and it features the work of six Cochrane artists among its 40 pieces.

“There’s Katy Mayer, Cat Roy, Joanne Levesque, Autumn Chamandy, Irene Slater and Frances Crundwell. So yes, congratulations to those six artists from Cochrane that will be featured,” Blazecka comments.

“As well, what makes this exhibit extra special to Cochrane,” she adds,  “is it’s the very first time in 40 years that Cochranites have been members with the NOAA that the jurying, the annual meeting and these awards ceremonies are being hosted here in Cochrane.”

All of that is part of the exhibit’s opening reception, between six and eight o’clock Friday night.
