Summerfest ‘church without walls’ interdenominational service set for Sunday

“Church without walls” is back in Cochrane, as part of this weekend’s Summerfest.

Most of the churches in town are getting together for an interdenominational service at the Commando Pavilion amphitheatre.

It’s being organized by Pastor Bob Cox for the Cochrane Ministerial Association.  He calls it a church without walls, because worship is taking place outside the usual walls.

“But church without walls also in the sense walls as dividing elements,” Cox adds.  “Instead of being divided in any way, we are intentionally being together expressing the unity that we have, we believe we have, in Jesus Christ.”

“It’s at 10:30 on Sunday morning, the 11th of August, that’s this Sunday.  The music, worship music is being provided by a local band here from New Hope Community Church called Shoeless and they’re a great band, a younger band.”

Inside the pavilion following the service, there’s a community picnic.  You’re welcome, even if you don’t attend the church service.
