Triathlon organizer just wants other people to get active and get fit

The Iroquois Falls man who staged a triathlon this past Saturday at Nellie Lake has one goal in mind.

Scott MacDonald wants other people to get active and get fit.

He has in the past few years, becoming involved in adventure racing, earning a brown belt in judo, and practicing other martial arts.

MacDonald, 47, says he’s very active, enjoys his new lifestyle and wants to share it with everyone.

“Because seven years ago, I was your typical dad bod kinda guy with the pot belly and overweight, sick and unhealthy and cranky, let’s just say,” he recounts.  “But now, I’m happy and enjoy life and live it to the fullest.”

There was no entry fee for the triathlon, although MacDonald did ask for voluntary donations of money that will go to local families dealing with autism.

“I just want people to get out, get active, have fun and get together and maybe next year we’ll have a bigger one where we’ll have an entry fee.”
