Simon Cowell has been confirmed as NOT one of the judges for “Cochrane’s Got Talent”. And that’s a good thing.
The event is planned for next Friday, August 9th, at the Summerfest edition of Live at the Lakeside.
Recreation board chairman Shea Henderson says it’s especially for newer, less experienced entertainers who might not be able to do a full one-hour set. Instead, they’ll have 15 minutes,
“It’s going to be a pretty relaxed environment, nothing too stressful,” Henderson advises. “We do have a little judging panel made up of local artists as well, people who have actually already played at Live at the Lakeside. There will be a little scoring and the winner of Cochrane’s Got Talent will have an opportunity to play during Summerfest next year as well, in 2020.”
Henderson adds that his committee has been surprised at how much talent there is in town.
“It’s amazing to see the community come together. We want to see that grow. We know there’s more talent out there. We’ve seen it with the play. We’ve seen it with the different musicians. We’ve seen it with the dance studio. So we just want again to give that platform for people to get there and showcase what they’ve got.”
Spaces are still open for the inaugural Cochrane’s Got Talent.
