Hughes Comments on Ultrasound Machines

The MP for Algoma Manitoulin Kapuskasing wants the Harper Tories to look at buying lighter ultrasound equipment for First Nations in remote regions. Carol Hughes says right now the ultrasound technologist carries hundreds of pounds in equipment as he visits Aboriginal communities.  Hughes says the solution is to buy semi-portable devices. The alternative could be that Health Canada may have to spend more money transporting pregnant women to a support centre in Sioux Lookout.
