The Chamber of Commerce in Iroquois Falls is looking for food establishments for the second annual Food Hop on August 23rd.
Events coordinator Tiffany Castonguay says people go from restaurant to restaurant, paying five dollars for a small portion of food not normally featured on the menu.
“So something that’s not available every day,” she comments.
Castonguay is hoping to attract out-of-towners to the event.
“We’re welcoming everybody,” she says. “Everybody from Cochrane to Timmins. Come try out our food, come try out the restaurants. They have amazing restaurants in town and it’s just to show people the local culinary experience that we have around here.”
After the eaters have been to all the food hop stops, they vote for the best one… which then gets bragging rights in the Falls. Local caterer Bryan Robinson won them in the first edition.
“Everything that he had made last year was on the barbecue,” Castonguay recounts. “He grills everything. It’s amazing.”
Food establishments who want to take part are asked to contact the Chamber by August 12th.
