Angus on Government Treatment of Veterans

The NDP is calling on the Harper Conservatives to do right by the injured Afghan veterans instead of fighting them in court for their disability payments. The government has spent almost $700,000 in legal costs in the fight. Charlie Angus, MP for Timmins-James Bay says the government should be ashamed of the way they are treating our veterans. The NDP has put forward a series of priorities for the government to turn around their record in support of our troops. So far there has been no response from the government on their requests to reopen Veterans Affairs offices, eliminating the CPP claw back and allowing our vets access to long-term care beds.
