It’s not as close to the bridge as its name implies anymore, but the Fauquier Bridge Farmers market is opening for another season in the morning.
Vendor and market committee member Priscilla Marcoux says this is the eighth or ninth year.
“We’re open on Saturdays from 9-11am,” she explains. “We used to be located at the pavilion near the Groundhog River. But because of the new bridge construction, we had to change venue to the sports complex site at 20 Doyon Street in Fauquier.”
“We have nine confirmed vendors for this Saturday, expecting possibly a few more and there’s going to be a variety of produce, fruits, baked goods, pickles, jam, all kinds of things.”
…Including homemade candies and weaving. All the products are local, between Cochrane and Fauquier.
Marcoux says the weekly market will probably continue until the end of September.
