Bowling day crossed with career day

Kids in Iroquois Falls are being invited to a combined bowling day and career day, tomorrow at Earl Porter Lanes.

Chamber of Commerce events coordinator Tiffany Castonguay says the kids are encouraged to dress as their future careers, and bowl for two dollars a gam, including shoes.

There will also be mentors on hand.

“We have a few coming in to talk about how they got the position, what they needed to take, if they needed college, if they didn’t, if it’s a trade.  Also about how they decided what they wanted to do,” says Castonguay.

If nothing else, it will only cost two dollars a game to bowl, shoes included.

“Exactly, yeah. It’s also to promote health living indoors,” Castonguay comments.

… So you don’t have to be a soccer player, skier, or some other athlete in an outdoor activity.

“No, exactly, she says. “You can be a bowler and you can still work a sweat.”

Everything gets underway at 1:00pm and lasts until 4:00pm.
