The Cochrane Winter Carnival is kicking into high gear this weekend. The OPP wants to remind area residents that there will be lots of people out on the streets and to be extra cautious. There will be a torchlight parade next week that begins at dusk and the OPP says that the Cochrane Fire Department is ready. The parade will begin at dusk, around 5:30 at the Old Ferguson School location and the Fire Hall. Participants in the torchlight parade are asked to remain behind the escort vehicle and handle torches with care. The torches will be handed off to the firefighters once Lake Commando is reached.
