NewsFedNor Funding Coming Under Scrutiny SHARE ON: Valerie Isaac, staff Monday, Feb. 2nd, 2015 While the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities recognizes the recent investments in northern communities, it seems that there is a lack of engagement in northeastern communities. The Northern Policy Institute in partnership with the Mowat Centre developed a discussion paper on the feedback with northern communities. Mayor Alan Spacek says while FONOM doesn’t disagree with many of the issues raised, they believe that FedNor is committed to job creation and economic growth in the north. While it is positive to hear that the Northern Policy Institute has received significant feedback to date it is important to recognize the continued investments by FedNor into the region. FONOM looks forward to providing feedback on the discussion paper.
