The Algoma Central Railway is going to be the focus of a discussion between the stakeholders who are trying to save it and the federal Minister of Transportation. New Democrat Carol Hughes is being cautious about this so far. Carol Hughes MP for Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing, has been after the federal government for reliable funding for the Algoma Central Railway to keep jobs.
The feds put some money into the ACR last year and Hughes says it was a short term fix that addressed a crisis that the Tories created in the first place.
