The question on naming laneways came up at council in Cochrane this week. The motion put forward would have allowed area residents who don’t have a street address to have the laneway near them to be named. The origins of the naming of laneways came up a few years ago when a protocol came into effect that said all houses had to have an identifiable address. The motion was defeated meaning that there will be no more laneways with names attached.
