After decades with outmoded equipment, the Cochrane Airport may soon be getting a much needed facelift. New LED lighting is slated to replace the unreliable 1970s era system currently in use. This winter has been an expensive one for the airport given that most snow storms have hit over weekends when snow removal crews have not been on duty, necessitating overtimes expenses. Though upgrade costs are a concern, increased services from Wabusk Air and the Air Ambulance will call for facilities upgrades.
