The swimming pool at the Tim Horton Event Centre will close for five weeks, beginning Thursday, May 16th.
We get the word from recreation supervisor Chantal Joanis.
“And the pool is shut down completely for cleaning, repainting. We’re not just closing down,” she says. “ We’re doing a lot of work in the pool area and we haven’t closed for four years, so we’re due.”
The pool will reopen on June 26th with a new summer schedule, including swimming lessons. That’s also the first day that lifeguards will be deployed at the beach on Lake Commando.
“The hours will be 12:00 to 7:00 on weekdays and 12:00 to 5:00 Saturday and Sunday,” Joanis says. “We will also provide rentals of pedal boas, paddle boards , canoes.”
You can swim outside of those hours, but at your own risk.
