Wanted: A new home for 3013 Cochrane Army Cadets.
Support committee chair Christina Doucette says there are now ten cadets… but the organization is looking to grow to 15, 20 or more.
“With new equipment and a new location,” she says, “we’re hoping that it’s going to revive some life into this cadet program so that we can continue for many, many years. This year we’re celebrating 35 years strong here with the army cadets.”
The new, permanent home they’re looking for would be something along the lines of a gym, a hall or a large garage.
“We’re looking for a space that will be large enough for us to hold an office as well as be able to parade, so that the cadets can do their drills,” Doucette explains. “And as well as a location that might allow us to also do our marksmanship program, so shooting our air rifles.”
