The Timmins campus of Collège Boréal is offering an unheard of incentive for prospective students in its personal support worker program: a fulltime job on graduation.
Extendicare Timmins will provide the jobs to four graduates, along with a one-thousand-dollar bursary.
Melanie Dufresne, Boréal’s manager of post-secondary programs, says “Extendicare, being a great partner of ours, is looking to fulfill their needs here and this is a win-win for both parties.”
Dufresne agrees that this great incentive to attract students… and for them to be competitive with classmates.
“I think so and you know, $1000 can help give you a boost when you’ve just done your graduation.”
The first students to qualify will graduate in spring 2020.
