No funding for tech help? No problem at Cochrane Public Library

CLARIFICATION: The co-op student will not repair devices, only help with use/software issues.  My Cochrane Now Dot Com apologizes for any confusion.

Despite not getting provincial funding for it this year, the Cochrane Public Library has found an innovative way to offer tech help.

CEO Christina Blazecka says any library patron having issues with using a computing device’s software only has to call to make an appointment.

“This year we were lucky enough to get a co-op student from the ESCHS high school, and this co-op student is willing to take on this task of helping our patrons with their devices,” she says.

“The flip side to this is it’s giving James some on the job training through the co-op peocess and it gives him some experience in the workplace.”

There’s no charge for tech help for library patrons.  You can call the library to be scheduled for a one-on-one session.
