The province requires all municipalities to have a Workplace Harassment and Violence policy that complies with new government standards. In Cochrane last night, town council unanimously adopted a new Health & Safety Policy, Workplace Harassment Policy and Workplace Violence Policy. It is aimed at protecting town employees both on and off the job. Cochrane council has also decided to go green. To that end council considered a motion that would see most printed materials be replaced by digital versions. Councillors will also be using an electronic device that would allow them to interact more efficiently in council meetings and beyond. The discussion on electronic devices will be held on January 20th. There will also be policing policies that need to be rectified by the end of January.
