Miss North Ontario Regional Canada hopeful will focus on her faith

A 21-year-old Cochrane woman has her eye set on becoming “Miss North Ontario Regional Canada” at a pageant in Sudbury this spring, for a wide range of reasons.

Kimberly Beaudry says it could lead to other pageants and possibly a modelling career.  But she sees the whole experience as a way to focus on her religious faith, and becoming a Godly woman.

“We’ve been called to love each other through scriptures in the Bible,” Beaudry comments, “and I think there’s nothing more beautiful than a woman who is content with who she is and is willing to encourage her sisters to love themselves.”

Among the requirements to compete against young woman from across the North… is that Beaudry raise $600 for the organization Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer.

“And this is actually one of my favourite aspects of the pageant,” she says, “because it’s amazing to think that even the smallest of donations could go such a long way in a family’s life.”

The new Miss North Ontario Regional Canada will be crowned May 11th  in Sudbury.
