Hospital Auxiliary looking for a few good volunteers

Cochrane’s Lady Minto Hospital Auxiliary is looking for volunteers to join its ranks.

Auxiliary president Joan Parsons tells My Cochrane Now Dot Com that a shortage of volunteers isn’t unique to her group.  She says adults with kids and a busy life don’t think they have time to volunteer.

The auxiliary particularly needs volunteers to help operate its gift shop.  Parsons says it’s the main fundraiser for money that all goes back into health care at Lady Minto.

“We operate the gift shop preferably seven days a week,” she says, “but we’re so short-staffed that that’s almost impossible to do.

“No experience necessary.  We will train you.  Our cash register is very straightforward.”

Anyone interested – including a high school student looking to fill the 40-hour quota – can contact the auxiliary through its Facebook page.
