Exhibit and contest combine artwork and poetry

Leave it to the Cochrane Public Library to have an exhibit featuring mixed media as diverse as poetry and artwork.

Actually, this is the third year for “Poartry”.  Program coordinator Ardis Proulx Chedore (shih-DOR) says the exhibit is planned for April, which is Poetry Month.

“It is going to be a contest of sorts where people can submit artwork along with their poetry so that they can showcase it,” she adds. “ The theme this year is water.”

Proulx Chedore says the past two years have attracted entries from kids to senior citizens.

“You do have to live in the area. So as long as your postal code begins with P0L, you’re good to go.”

Submissions have to be delivered to the library on Wednesday, March 27th.

“The exhibit itself will run from March 29th all the way to the 27th of April and the opening for it will be Friday, April 5th from 5:00pm to 7:30pm,” Proulx Chedore explains.

The entries will be judged, and the winners announced at that opening.

Rules and regulations are in a video on the library’s Facebook page.
