Opportunity to pitch your idea to 475 potential investors

Think of it as Dragons Den without the pressure of the dragons sitting in front of you.

Any business, entrepreneur or inventor in this region can try to get capital for their big idea from a group called Northern Ontario Angels.   It’s working with the Productivity and Innovation Centre in Timmins for an October event known as “Timmins Pitch”.

Sylvie McPhail of the Innovation Centre says the field will be narrowed down to three, who will pitch publicly at the October event. One of the potential investors could be in the audience anonymously.

“We also film or videotape the session so that we can distribute the recording to the 475 investors that belong to that group,” says McPhail.

The Innovation Centre and Northern Ontario Angels will help you polish your pitch.

McPhail says the call for submissions expires on April 29th.

“After that time, we will take about a month to review all the applications and then we’ll make our selections.  So three presenters will be selected to pitch at this event on October 3rd.”

Once the investors get the video, the rest is up to them.

Any investor wanting to join the Angels can inquire at the same address.
