COCHRANE SINGER-SONGWRITER HOPING THE SPOTLIGHT FALLS ON HIM

Cochrane performer Mitch Jean has made it into the top 100  of CBC Searchlight competition for up-and-coming singer-songwriters, with a song that’s very close to his heart.

He wrote “Feel the Rain” after the death of his father, amid regrets that they didn’t communicate better and have a better relationship.

“I think it’s a song more about forgiveness,” Jean muses. “ So it was really an emotional healing process for me, the whole production of this song, from start to finish.  So yeah, so I’m pretty proud of this song for sure.”

If “Feel the Rain” moves to the top of the Searchlight competition, Jean will win a week at a master class in Toronto, then to London, Ontario to perform at JunoFest and take in all the festivities surrounding the 2019 Juno Awards.
