I.F. CARNIVAL GOING FOR YOUNGER ROYALTY IN 2019

Royalty will reign over the Iroquois Falls Winter Carnival next month, but not the teenagers that most carnivals have.

Co-chairman Tory Delaurier says the ”Little Miss and Mister” pageant will focus on the younger crowd.

“Boys between six and ten and girls between six and ten years old,” he says, “and the entry fee is $10.00 and for additional siblings in the family, it’s only $5.00 to enter.  We had it two years ago, we’re bringing it back this year.”

Delaurier says the pageant on Fri., March 8 is one way to offer more activities for younger kids.

The winners will receive crowns, sashes and other prizes.  Winning the pageant puts big responsibility on their shoulders for the rest of the carnival.

“To reign over the carnival, go to different events and represent the prince and princess,” outlines Delaurier.

The carnival committee is looking for sponsors for all of its events, to help cover rising costs.  And one other note:  There are still spots left for cars to participate in the demolition derby.
