LACK OF VOLUNTEERS AFFECTS NEOFACS PROGRAMS

Written by Tim Rout

NEOFACS is looking for volunteers in Cochrane.  Mireille Dubosq, volunteer coordinator for Family & Children Services says the agency is profoundly undermanned in Cochrane, which strains the services that regular staff can offer local families.

One of the most important volunteer jobs is short term childcare – typically an hour or two.

“We recruit volunteers to fill different roles, support the campaigns that we runthroughoutt the year and provide childcare while workers are meeting with parents,” says Dubosq.

“The commitment is whatever a person can offer.  We do ask at least 15 hours per year.”

Bottom line, without more volunteers many programs are being curtailed.  If you think volunteering with Family and Children Services might be the thing for you, contact Mireille Dubosq through this link.
