NewsSolar Array Causing Problems for Wahgoshig First Nation SHARE ON: Valerie Isaac, staff Wednesday, Dec. 31st, 2014 An 8Megawatt solar array along Highway 11 near Ramore is concerning to the Wahgoshig First Nation. They first became aware of the project when it could be seen from along the highway. Fiera Axium, the company behind the project continues to resist meaningful discussion about the project. The First Nation Band is not opposed to the construction but to the lack of respect and consultation on the project. The band is wary of companies that do not respect their legal treaty rights or the local communities who may be impacted by the project. Wahgoshig First Nation is now considering further action with discussions to be held with the Minister of the Environment to make sure that the legal obligation to consult and accommodate is met.
