‘WE’LL BE BACK’: FREE CHRISTMAS DINNER ORGANIZER

It’s a given… that a free community Christmas dinner and concert in Cochrane last night (Sun.) will be repeated next year.

The Cochrane Ministerial Association fed turkey dinner to about 170 people, and then entertained them with a wide range of Christmas music performed by volunteers.

Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church youth minister Patrick Tousignant says diners were treated to a wide range of live Christmas music.

“So we had all these volunteers coming up and saying ‘we can sing this song’ and some churches said ‘we have a choir, we can sing’ and so we started at 6:00pm for the meal and at 7:00pm we had a little program and concert and it was a great event.”

…So great, it will be back. “I think in the middle of the event we were all thinking about it,” Tousignant comments, “ whether we were going to continue with this or not, and I think that by the middle of it, we knew this was an annual event.”

“I got to chat with a few people and they were just so excited that the churches were getting together and inviting the community, anybody over for a free meal.”
