GOING, GOING, GONE AT COCHRANE LIBRARY SILENT AUCTION

There’s no guy talking a mile a minute or banging a gavel, but the bidding is still intense at the Cochrane Public Library’s annual silent auction. And time is running out.

“We’ve got three cabinets in the back, full of gorgeous items,” says Jessica Horne, assistant to the library CEO. “We’ve got Christmas décor, we have children’s books, toys, craft supplies, décor for around your house. We also have some fishing gear and some barbecue gear, so there’s a lot of things for everyone.”

The money raised goes to bursaries for one student at each of the high schools in Cochrane.

Successful bidders don’t have to wait long to pick up their loot, according to Horne.

“We’re usually ready for people to pick up their items the following Tuesday or Wednesday.”
