No family in Cochrane will go hungry this Christmas, if the Lions Club and the food bank have an say in the matter.
The Lions have turned over a cheque to food bank manager Claude Rocheleau..
“This year, we did get $15,000,” Rocheleau explains, “ which goes towards our vouchers, food vouchers that we donate to needy people in Cochrane.”

The Lions raised the money during the annual Bill Mitchell telethon.

Rocheleau says the value of each voucher depends on the number of people in a household.
He says the food bank feeds up to 120 families every month. December is always the busiest, when Christmas gifts bite into the small amount of money families have to spend.
