DOWNHILL SKI SEASON STARTS EARLY

Admit it:  Your skis are already by the door.  Now the good news:  You can use them at Kamiskotia this weekend.

General manager Eric Philipow (Philip-oh) says it has been a busy week getting ready.

“So we’re going to open the whole Skyway side, which leaves us with about five runs skiable, three of which are fully groomed.”

Philipow says the earliest opening in over a decade is due to perfect weather, with a temperature range that makes it perfect for snow making.

“Luckily, once it dipped it stayed down”, he adds, “so we were able to make snow for a good two-and-a-half weeks at this point, and then you know the little bit of natural snow of course helps us as well.”

The tube park and downhill lift could open next weekend… or on the first day of Christmas break.

The resort will be open all through the holidays.
