public health nurse has guidelines for holiday drinking

Your staff Christmas party usually marks the official start of holiday celebrations… and that means drinking.

The Porcupine Health Unit is concerned about the longterm effects of over-imbibing at Christmas.

Public health nurse Stephanie Gravel (GRA-vell) says that all year long, a woman should limit alcohol intake to ten a week.

“So you wanna take no more than two drinks in a day.  So that means you’ll have to take a couple days off here and there,” she says.

“And for men as well, it’s 15 drinks for them in a week period, and no more than three drinks in a sitting.”
