The MooseFM community cares radiothon is coming up Friday December 7th. We will be broadcasting for twelve straight hours with many guests helping us raise funds for the hospitals in Matheson, Iroquois Falls and Cochane toward the purchase of a new portable digital x-ray machine for each. Christine Larivee, head of diagnostic imaging for MICs, said one of the most important features of the new x-ray machine is its lower radiation output. She says the unit puts out up to 30% less radiation and their training procedures are designed to optimize this reduction.
Larivee went on to say the ultra-high resolution portable machine provides instant, high quality digital images that can be easily transmitted to distant specialists and others being consulted on a case.
