CAP To Celebrate Anniversary On World Children’s Day

World Children’s Day will also have a special meaning for the city of Timmins.

Tomorrow will also be a celebration of 25 years of the Community Action Program supporting children and their families within the city through North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services.

The CAPC is a community-based children’s program which promotes the healthy development of young children from birth to the age of six.

NEOFACS Brighter Futures Program Coordinator Rachele Pelletier says they are pleased to celebrate the 25th year of their program.

“We are very pleased to celebrating our 25th anniversary this year. Since 1993, our local CAPC program has supported children and their families facing challenging life circumstances. Our program works by creating partnerships within communities to strengthen local support for vulnerable children and their families.”

Pelletier says their program has created partnerships within the community to strengthen support for vulnerable children over the years.

“Over the past 25 years, the program has provided child and parent programs, and nutritious food and grocery cards to children and families. Thank you to all of our partners for the ongoing support and collaboration to provide quality service to our families and their children.”

NEOFACS, in recognition of the 25th anniversary, will host a celebration event at the Brighter Futures/EarlyON Child and Family Centre from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
