Carol Hughes is voicing her concerns over changes to the Canadian Institutes of Health Research that will impact First Nations health. The New Democrat MP for Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing says that the changes were made without input from the Aboriginal health research community. Cuts to funding and the advisory committee along with the ending of programs points to a pending vacuum for Aboriginal health research in Canada.
