Northern Hosts Outland Youth Employment Group

Youth got the college experience before even school opened.

The Outland Youth Employment Group got to experience life as a Northern College student with classes, activities and living in residence. The youth group is made of Indigenous students working on getting two senior level high school coop credits by participating in science week at a local college or university.

The college says youth got to participate in hands on activities in residential wiring, OPP forensics and virtual reality courses. The school also hosted cultural teachings with the Campus Elder.

The group also had the opportunity to visit Science Timmins and helped the Mattagami Conservation Authority with a community bush clearing project.

College Vice- President Audrey Penner says it was an absolute pleasure hosting the students and they all have a very bright future ahead of them.
