The Great Canadian Kayak Challenge is Just Around the Corner

The summer fun doesn’t stop at Summerfest.

Tourism Timmins is gearing up for its 10th annual Great Canadian Kayak Challenge and Festival. Manager of Tourism Guy Lamarche says this year will feature live music, kayak races and a car show. Lamarche says there will also be a few new activities to help celebrate the 10th annual even including the Ontario Fur Managers Federation conference, a strongman competition, True North Brigade and the Moose FM No Kayak Grand Prix. He adds that this is just the start of what the kayak weekend will hold.

Lamarche says the weekend event in August will have no cover charge, no parking fees, free camping and free music. He says he prides Tourism Timmins for being able to offer an event on this scale for free.

He says there is still time to register for the different kayak races. Click here for more information on the races and for registration forms.

The event is set for August 24th to 26th at Participark.
